Seeking help can feel daunting, but you don’t have to go through this alone. With the NHS being strained, more and more Services are accepting diagnoses from private experienced assessors. Wayne listens with empathy, understand your symptoms, and work collaboratively to develop strategies that empower you. Obtaining a diagnosis is one of the steps to manage your ADHD and unlock your full potential.

  • Relink Therapy is proud to be able to commit to having clients booked in for their assessment within 4-6 weeks of the initial query.
  1. Complete New Client Form.
  2. Complete all pre-assessment forms to assist in the assessment process. Please note: if you have additional information that you want to supply beyond what is covered in the pre-assessment forms, please send this as a scanned or take a photo.
  3. The appointment will take place face to face.
    Be sure to bring everything with you listed on the email you received after booking.
  4. The appointment will be a secure, quiet and comfortable space for you to discuss everything at your own pace. The assessment is not rushed
  • Your appointment will last approximately an hour to an hour and a half.
  • You will be required to provide photo ID at the start of the session.
  • Your appointment will follow a structure to ensure all diagnostic criteria is covered within the appointment time.
  • During your appointment Wayne will carefully obtain all the information regarding your mental health and gather an in depth history, considering other conditions that may be related to ADHD.
  • They will ask you about the symptoms you described in your pre-assessment forms and about your past experiences. If any questions make you uncomfortable, please say. You do not need to say anything that you do not want to. They will not pressure you to share anything you are not comfortable with.
  • If you wish to share more information at the end of your assessment, please say and you will be able to add to it by writing it in an email after the appointment. Ask your assessor to consider it.
  • At the end of your assessment, they will discuss their assessment findings and suggest any necessary actions, recommendations or suggestions.

Following attending your appointment and assessment, the findings and outcome of their assessment will be communicated to your GP via a letter about your assessment. You will have access to a copy of this letter although it may take 4 to 6 weeks to become available. If there is any information you prefer not to be included in the letter, please declare during your appointment. They can decide to omit it if it’s unrelated to your diagnosis.  

If you are diagnosed with ADHD and choose medication treatment, whoever prescribes the medication will do so that it is safely initiated at a low dose and gradually increased until it’s most effective, with the fewest possible side effects. 

Please note that there will be a wait between assessment and receiving the outcome.
